KLAIPEDA, LITHUANIA

Klaipeda has been controled by the Swedes, the Germans, and the Russians

Klaipeda, Lithuania, can be a unique and enjoyable destination for female solo travelers.

  1. Coastal Beauty: Klaipeda is Lithuania’s only seaport and offers a picturesque coastal setting along the Baltic Sea, providing serene and scenic views.
  2. Historical Charm: Explore the charming Old Town with its cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and unique sculptures, such as the famous “Cat with a Gentleman’s Face.”
  3. Curonian Spit: Take a ferry to the nearby Curonian Spit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning dunes, pristine beaches, and lush forests. It’s perfect for nature enthusiasts.
  4. Safety: Lithuania is generally considered safe for travelers, including solo female travelers, but exercising standard precautions is always advisable.
  5. Affordable Travel: Lithuania is budget-friendly, offering affordable accommodations, dining, and transportation options.
  6. Warm Hospitality: Lithuanians are known for their warm hospitality and friendliness toward tourists.

Lithuania Does Craft Beer Right

Svyturys makes great craft beer. It is seasonal, it is paired with food, it is amazing. There is something for everyone, even those that do not consider themselves “beer drinkers”. If you find yourself in Northern Europe I highly recommend a tour of their brewery and giving them all a try. The first photograph is of their craft “laboratory”, Here one master crafter works to sort out recipes for upcoming fads and seasons of future beers. I love this idea. It is in the heart of the other workings of the brewery and the tasting rooms. The second image (on the right) is an organizational chart of beers. The nerdy teacher in me loved this.
